Vibes
Looking to set the mood? I got you! Here's where you'll find my personally curated playlists to set the vibe for a date, cooking, dinner parties, and more .
It's almost summertime again in the PNW. The sun is starting to come out more consistently, and the days are getting longer. The cherry blossoms are blossoming, and the air smells amazing. That means it's officially charcuterie board season. I'm excited for long days in the park, drinking wine and having a good time. My favorite pairing usually includes prosciutto and a nice brie on an herb crostini. This playlist is for sunny days spent on a blanket in the park with a glass of wine in hand.
It's almost the beginning of spring. The sun is beginning to make an appearance, and it's finally starting to warm up. For dinner, I chose a bright garlic butter sauce pasta with clams. This is one of my favorites to have on a sunny weekend. This pasta isn't too heavy but hardy enough to keep you full before a night on the town - without the bloat. I recommend pairing it with a nice glass of your favorite Pinot Gris. To kick off the night with the right vibes, I like to turn on this playlist. It includes some of my favorite songs, by Swae Lee, The Weeknd, Michael Jackson, and Rae Sremmurd.
This is my, "I just want to live my life" playlist. It's for those moments when you want to enjoy eating your guilty pleasure with your feet up on the table. I'm a big believer that everybody needs at least one day to relax and recharge. A day where there aren't any worries about what's going on around you or whatever negativity that the world is throwing your way. This playlist will have you rocking your head up and down as you snack on something rich and cheesy. It will get you on your feet and make you want to live more.
One of my favorite past times is spending time out in the summer rain of Western Washington, reflecting on life and where I want my future to take me. Here is a slower playlist for meditation and self-reflection. My favorite song in this playlist is "Too Much" by Sampha. It's the original version of the well known Drake song. I always like finding the original versions of sampled songs by bigger artists. This version of the song is so soulful and simple. Every time I listen to it, it brings me to a much slower and mellow pace and releases my anxieties and tensions. Being a black chef, it can be lonely sometimes, so this is one way that I express myself outside of the kitchen.
